How long do I have to wait until I can add more things to my tattoo?

I only have a small (about the size of a golf ball) tattoo on my right hip. I want more added to it, but it was my first, so I wanted to wait a while to figure out what I wanted and how it seriously injured. I got the tattoo on Monday, I go to the next Tuesday (8 days) and get the rest of art added?

Most artists prefer to wait until the tattoo is mostly healed to circumvent or close to it, however, the artist have different patterns. Check with your artist. Whether say, I would say sure no problem. But that does not change the way how your artist is not?
