How are the 12 Chinese zodiac animals signs chosen over others?
There are rat, ox, tiger, rabbit and the remaining 12 animals for each year for a 12-year cycle, where repeats. Because these animals were selected to appear in the Chinese zodiac. I mean, why not duck, deer, the cat, elephant, etc. Why only 12 animals and how and why are they chosen?
The 12 animal zodiac signs are, in order, the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep (or goat), monkey, rooster, dog and pig. There are many legends to explain the beginning of the zodiac. One of the most popular reads, briefly, as follows: The rat was given the task of inviting the animals to report to the Jade Emperor for a banquet to be selected for the zodiac signs. The cat was a good friend of the rat, but the rat tricked him into believing that the banquet the next day. The cat slept through the banquet, thinking it was the next day. When discovered, the cat vowed to be the natural enemy mouse for ages to come. A variation of this describes the Jade Emperor, holding a great feast in his palace, the cat did not hear the initial announcement, so the rat tells him she Will Not be a real party, but he says, is the day after the actual date. All animals arriving in the evening was given a special place as an animal Zodiac - the cat arrived the next day only to discover that the banquet was over. Another popular legend says that a race was used to decide the animals to report the Jade Emperor. While we are all aware of the hatred between a cat and mouse, these two animals were really good friends once. Good friends they are, but these two animals Ox. The ox, being a naive animal and good natured, agreed to take them across. However, when there is a carrot dangling in front, it is sometimes difficult maintain friendship and clever mouse who decides to win, you need to do something and quickly pushed the cat into the stream. For this, the cat has never forgiven the rat, and no doubt hated heavy, pushing it downstream all the time. But with the powerful force that made the earth and was named the third animal in the cycle. Suddenly, from a distance came a thumping sound a floating log that later washed him to shore. For this, he became the fourth animal in the zodiac cycle. Coming in 5th place was the gallant dragon, flying and belching fire in the air. It is clear that the Emperor was deeply curious as to why a strong and flying creature as the dragon should fail to get first. The mighty dragon explained that had to stop and make rain to help all people and creatures of the earth, so he was caught a little bit. Then, on his way to the finish line, he saw a helpless bunny dragon and it was added to the cycle of the zodiac. Once he had it made a sound was heard and came galloping horse. Tucked away on the hoof is the slimy appearance sneaky snake whose sudden gave the horse a fright, making it fall back and gave way while the horse took charge in June the seventh. Not long after, a certain distance, ram, monkey and rooster came ashore. These three creatures helped each other to get where they are. The rooster spotted a raft, and took the other two animals with him. Together, the ram and the monkey cleared the weeds, tugged and pulled and finally the ferry to the beach. Because of his efforts, the emperor was delighted and immediately named the ram as the creature 8, 9 as the monkey, and rooster 10. The 11th animal is the dog. His explanation for being late, though he was supposed to be the best swimmer among the rest was that he needed a good bath after a long period, and the fresh water of the river was too big a temptation. For this, he almost failed to reach the finish line. Just as the emperor was about to call it a day, an oink and squeal was heard from a piglet. The term "lazy pig" is due here, as the pig got hungry during the race, promptly stopped for a feast then fell asleep. After the nap, the pig continued the race and was named the 12th and last say that cattle appointed a buffalo to represent them, because he was more efficient in the water. The trade was acceptable because both animals are family members cattle. Another version of the tale expands the race. The route crossed a forest on plains and prairies of tracks, and along a stream, before finally crossing a lake to the city of destination. Another variation says two different breeds. The first involved all animals, in two divisions to ensure that the animals easy to master the top, and the top six in each division would "make the cut" to a runoff, which then determine the order of the animals in the zodiac. went on to claim that the flesh from your bones 'sexy'. This explanation was apparently deemed unsatisfactory, because the boar was placed at the end Zodiac.
