One of the biggest challenges we face as an artist is ....

The blank screen!

But not for the reason you may think! I have a little big oil painting ideas to help you through your crisis accident blank screen. Just follow along!

Remember when you were about 11 years, and her grandmother would give you a room (not that my Dad's generation) would give you a dollar and a quarter, (now I'm telling my age) in cash today seems more $ 10.25! Anyway, you're at the candy counter to try their best to find out how to spend your money wisely.

So much goodness in front of you, and so a small belly to eat everything!

Yes, it is not for lack of an idea, but that a hundred ideas painting oil to do next. This is a passion that I wish everyone could have. Hopefully, in this article, I can help you develop their passion for this most pleasant thing we call oil painting.

I think it's because I am a person who sees the glass half full and not half empty. In fact, I see that it works!

Try this.

Find a subject that pulls the strings of your heart. Think about family, hobbies, home. Find something you love, you get excited and make your heart beat when you dwell on the subject.

Then incorporate this theme in his paintings!

Along with this however, try to remember to find something that will never be without reference material. Can be people, animals, nature, mountains, lakes, fishing, old buildings. All these have a special place in my heart, but the flowers seem to be the only thing that gives me joy! Once you have found something special, to become an expert. You will then have an idea of life that will fuel your passion paint!

Imagine never running out of the idea of painting. This solves 50% of the dilemma of most artists, "the white screen. The other 50% of this problem will solved using a decision process to reduce your idea to the best of the best! Here is what I do:

I usually always have 4 to 6 ideas floating around in my head at any moment! How do I complete a job, I get to review my last "idea" folder and put out all my photo's, sketches, etc. So, as I analyze them, I turn away one by one, making a comparison check. I look for an idea thats been in my head for some time and compare it with just another idea. Better stay, the other is put away until next time. I'll do it for all the reference of the picture until I'm left with only three. I print these on my inkjet and usually after waiting a day to the other, no one will tell me on the other. If not, I just start the process of painting in all 3 at once. WOOHOO!

How is a layer of drying on the first, I get working on 2 then 3. My gallery owner loves this because when I give him several pieces, their customers love having choices. Try these ideas from oil painting the next time you're on the fence facing the blank screen and can not decide which way to jump off!
