Tattoo Design input?

Im thinking of getting a tattoo of the symbol of the Claddagh. It is a heart with both hands holding it and a crown for him. It represents love, friendship and loyalty. All together represent "let love and friendship reign i" Something I'm passionate. It is an Irish tattoo .. and I'm not really Irish. My father is a small part Irish making me a little Irish, but I'm not big on Irish heratige .. I just wish that tattooo advocates. Do you thnk this is a good idea, regardless? if not .. Do you have any other ideas for symbols that represent the same / similar things? (no chinease symbols please) thanks:)

I got this tattoo! =) Its on my foot and I changed it a little, making his hands into the hands of the skeleton and the heart and crown and cracked stone like.
